Ballinger

Ballinger is 36 miles north of Eden.  It offers a quaint district, many antique shops, and beautifully restored historic homes.  Ballinger is the perfect host city for the newest and hottest fishing spot in Texas, O.H. Ivie Reservoir, located 20 miles away and offering 25,000 surface acres of water recreation.  It also stages a number of annual events to intrigue the visitor.​

Brady

Brady is 32 miles east of Eden.  Brady is the home of the world championship goat cookoff held the 1st weekend in September.  Brady boasts of superb hunting.  Brady Lake provides fishing, boating, skiing, camping and RVing.  Other interesting attractions are The Heart of Texas Historical Museum and the Heart of Texas County Museum.​

Coleman

Coleman is 55 miles northeast of Eden in what is known as "the Land of the Lakes."  Major lakes around Coleman offer fun and recreation: Hords Creek Lake, Lake Coleman, Lake Scarbrough, Memory Lake, Lake Novice, Lake San Tana and the newest, Lake O.H. Ivie.  Fort Colorado is in Coleman's city park, featuring replicas of old pioneer life, a blacksmith shop and a larger-than-life horse statue.

Eldorado

Eldorado is 43 miles southwest of Eden and is where the only working woolen mile in the Southwest can be found, at Eldorado Woolen Inc.  After touring the mill, walk along the Historic Walking Tour that includes the Old Bank Building.  Eldorado also offers a live theater featuring the regionally famous "Way Off Broadway Players", and a guest ranch, X-Bar Ranch (make reservations by calling 888-853-2688).

Fort McKavett

Fort McKavett is 44 miles southwest of Eden.  The fort offers 15 roofed and restored structures, more than a dozen stabilized ruins, and several post military occupation structures.  Several freshwater springs and a lime kiln are linked by a quarter-mile trail.  For more information, visit the Texas Historical Commission's website.

Eola

Eola is 22 is northwest of Eden and is known for the Barrows Museum.  Founded by Ernest & Dorothy Barrows, this museum displays an extensive collection of memorabilia from the early days of Concho County.  Four large museum buildings and house collections which range from delicate crystal to a magnificent pipe organ.  Visitors can step into the past and view an early kitchen, soda fountain, post office, hospital and antique musical instruments.  Indian artifacts, large arrowheads, antique furniture, fire trucks, a train caboose and farm equipment are on display.  Upon your arrival at the museum, you will be greeted by registered longhorn cattle.  Museum hours are Friday & Saturday 10 a.m.—5 p.m.

Menard

Menard is 21 miles south of Eden and has a number of attractions.  The Historic Dutch Walk in the downtown area is a self-guided tour with interpretive displays of historical attractions along the irrigation canal.  Presidio de San Luis de las Amarillas was built in the 1750s and represents the most northern boundary of the Spanish empire in Texas.  It is considered by historians to be as significant as the Alamo.  Jim Bowie Days and the Song of Sislver Outdoor Musical are held the third weekend in June and both are representative of Menard's colorful history.

Paint Rock

Paint Rock is 22 miles north of Eden and is home to the Painted Rocks.  After a visit to the Painted Rocks pictographs, visit Ingrid's Custom Hand Woven Inc. for a unique exhibition of hand weaving of wool and mohair.  Also, Hartgrove's offers wool and mohair rugs, saddle pads, apparel, jewelry and gifts.

San Angelo

San Angelo is 44 miles west of Eden.  San Angelo combines premier cultural arts and virtually endless outdoor activities with West Texas charm and hospitality.  Stroll downtown amidst colorful shops and historical buildings, museums and national landmarks, including Fort Concho and the award-winning Museum of Fine Arts.
