In cooperation with the United States Department of Agriculture, the Eden Economic Development Corporation has disbursed its first Intermediary Relending Program (IRP) Loan to Kiser Iron Works of Paint Rock. With desire to create functional works of art, Randy Kiser started Kiser Iron Works in 1990, first in San Angelo and for the past several years in Paint Rock. His love for metal smithing and design has been showcased in trade magazines as well as area television and newspaper articles while his work can been seen in various venues including custom built homes and commercial businesses. With the assistance of this business expansion loan, plans are open a studio showroom with hand forged iron furnishings and hardware available to the general public, an educational area for the blacksmith enthusiast, and a viewing area where visitors can watch blacksmiths at work. Visit http://kiserironworks.intuitwebsites.com/ to see Randy's work and look for the grand reopening of Kiser Iron Works in the Spring of 2010! The IRP is a program for small business owners in Concho County focused on expanding the trade area for the business as well as ensuring our County's long-term economic sustainability. The program provides competitive low interest, long-term financing for working capital and fixed asset needs. Interested business owners are encouraged to visit with Kathy Keane, Economic Development Coordinator at Eden City Hall - (325) 869-2211 - to explore how this resource can work for them!
