THE SPIRIT OF EDEN FUND
PROVIDED GRANTS TO VARIOUS PROJECTS IN EDEN
AND CONCHO COUNTY
The Spirit of Eden Fund made grants totaling $183,117 to eight different agencies and organizations in Eden and Concho County in 2007. The purpose of the grants is to improve the quality of life in Eden and the surrounding area by supporting community and rural development, health care, education, child welfare, recreation, and public safety. Grantees are public and private corporations described in Section 501 (c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code; governmental entities; or special purpose districts that are tax supported.
The City of Eden received $66,773 to support the economic development coordinator and community recreational facilities and equipment.
The Spirit of Eden Fund gave $20,000 to the Concho County Hospital District as a partner with the San Angelo Health Foundation and the District to purchase a Computerized Radiograph Machine for the hospital. In addition, Frontera Healthcare Network, serving Concho, Menard, and Mason counties, received a $30,000 grant to establish a reserve fund enabling them to sustain their initiative to provide primary health care to people in these counties.
The Eden Consolidated Independent School District received $43,000 to install new seating and carpet in the high school auditorium and to prepare and provide emergency care packs for each classroom in the school.
